What We Learned Making Odoo Accessible
Screen Readers, High Contrast, and Odoo: What We Learned Making Odoo Accessible
Enterprise ERP rollouts rarely start with accessibility as a first-class requirement, but for organizations with staff who are blind or visually impaired, retrofitting Odoo after go-live is expensive and disruptive.
In this session, Jason Wong, Head of Consulting Practice at Novobi, shares lessons from a real-world Odoo v19 deployment built to support employees with visual impairments from day one, exploring how accessibility needs surface differently once those users are actually in the system.
He will also discuss how to keep pace as new modules come online and how to avoid treating accessibility as a one-time checklist.
What You’ll Learn
- How accessibility requirements surface differently once users who are blind or visually impaired are working in the system, including why some apparent bugs turn out not to be bugs at all
- What to test, how to prioritize fixes, and when to involve end users with disabilities directly in the testing process
- How to scope accessibility work into Odoo projects from day one rather than retrofitting it after go-live
- Why accessibility is an ongoing implementation discipline, not a checklist item
