Novobi Welcomes Our New CEO, Joe Halloum

Austin, Texas | November 2022

Joe Halloum joins Novobi as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). As an advisor to Novobi for the last 4 years, Joe was influential in the company’s overall direction, positioning the business for maturity and growth. Ha Pham, President of Novobi and former CEO, entrusts the future of Novobi to his mentor, Joe, while he takes on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO). Together, they hope to provide businesses strategic solutions that rival the capabilities of conventional software but with lower total cost of ownership.

I’ve been involved with Novobi for a few years now, and I’ve seen them emerge from a small team of highly passionate engineers into one of the most competitive and trusted Odoo Gold Partners in the US. When Ha came to me with a goal to expand Novobi’s reach and asked if I could help, I knew quickly that it would be a great opportunity to lead such a team to the next phase of the company’s growth.

I’ve been very impressed with Novobi’s dedication and consistency in the quality of work. Their technical expertise, combined with the flexibility of Odoo’s framework, positions Novobi to become one of the most sought-after partners in the ERP industry, and I feel honored to be a part of that journey.

-Joe Halloum, CEO at Novobi

Joe has established himself as one of the business leaders in the software enterprise industry, particularly in retail and manufacturing. In the last 30 years, he has held several executive positions in companies such as Infor, Gilbarco-Veeder Root, and 360Commerce. Through his leadership, Joe has enabled these organizations to operate at the highest level of efficiency and deliver solutions that are tailored to multinational corporations such as Exxon, Chevron, and Shell, among others.

Joe has also founded Starmount and served as its CEO. Starmount was a pioneer in the omnichannel revolution. With the eCommerce boom, Joe recognized the need to connect companies’ brick and mortar operations with their online businesses. Under Joe’s leadership, Starmount developed omnichannel and mobile commerce products that consolidated its clients’ store and ecommerce operations. These products proved to be a game-changer for several clients like Abercrombie & Fitch, Perry Ellis, Urban Outfitters, REI, Sears, Tractor Supply, Zumiez, and Infor, which acquired Starmount in 2016.

I credit Starmount’s success to the culture we have built as a team. We valued honest communication, collaboration, and hard work. We made sure that everyone was on board with the company’s vision by empowering our employees to give them the ability to succeed. I believe that a positive work environment fosters creative thinking, and with that, we were one of the first to dominate the omnichannel sector of the retail industry.

Joe’s experience in enterprise-level service, along with Novobi’s technical expertise in ERP implementation, cloud architecture, and data analytics, are foundational for Novobi to elevate Odoo to compete alongside the established ERP brands. Ha’s methodical approach to operational excellence, further reinforced by Joe’s knowledge and background in sophisticated systems, will serve as the guide needed for Novobi to continue providing quality service to our clients through the use of Odoo.

Joe’s assumption of the position could not have come at a better time. Novobi and Odoo’s market are expanding, and Joe has the skills and experience to prepare and lead us to the next level. We need someone like him to serve as an anchor in maintaining a culture of excellence as we embark on this next phase. I am confident that Joe will be effective in carrying this out as our new CEO.

-Ha Pham, President & COO at Novobi

Currently, Odoo caters to 8 million users worldwide and has more than 30,000 apps available which provide companies quick access to functionalities they need. As more companies turn to Odoo to help their upward trajectory, Novobi’s strong leadership team, with Joe at the helm, plans to become instrumental in defining their course and in bringing them closer to their goals.

Ha and I share the same vision for Novobi. We want to give small businesses access to advanced features typically only afforded to the enterprise market. At the same time, we want to redefine ERP implementation for mid and large-size companies in terms of complexity and cost. Odoo ‘s open-source platform and Novobi’s technical expertise allow us to deliver business solutions for complex workflows quickly and with lower investment compared to the traditional ERPs in the market today.
