ERP Functional Consultant

Duties

The ERP Consultant will be responsible for analyzing client business processes, gathering requirements, and configuring Odoo modules to deliver scalable solutions across departments such as Sales, Inventory, Accounting, and HR. This role involves leading end-to-end implementations from discovery through go-live, translating business needs into functional specifications, and serving as the primary client liaison throughout the project lifecycle.

Additionally, the consultant will coordinate user acceptance testing, develop and deliver end-user training, and provide post-go-live support to ensure long-term system performance. Close collaboration with technical teams to scope customizations and integrations, along with maintaining thorough project documentation, are also key responsibilities of this role.


ERP Functional Consultant

Location: Remote
Compensation: $90k – $110k/year
This compensation range applies to U.S.-based candidates. For candidates outside the U.S., compensation will be determined by location, experience, and market rates.

Responsibilities

Workstream Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the Implementation Program Manager and senior consultants to lead specific functional workstreams (e.g., Finance, Manufacturing, Retail, CRM).

Business Analysis:

  • Engage with client stakeholders to gather, document, and refine detailed business requirements.
  • Analyze current workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Functional Solution Design:

  • Develop functional designs in Odoo ERP aligned with business needs, accessibility requirements (ADA/Section 508), and compliance standards.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and technical deliverables.

Configuration & Testing:

  • Configure and customize Odoo modules for assigned workstreams.
  • Conduct unit and integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).

Documentation:

  • Prepare clear and concise documentation, including configuration guides, functional specifications, and end-user materials.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure smooth handoffs for development and integration tasks.

User Support & Training:

  • Develop training materials and deliver functional training sessions to end-users.
  • Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution within assigned workstreams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain/Operations, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • Proven experience using enterprise platforms such as Odoo, NetSuite, Acumatica, SAP, or Infor.
  • Odoo Certification or proven Odoo configuration/implementation experience required.
  • Strong understanding of ERP processes across finance, manufacturing, inventory, CRM, or retail.
  • Skilled in documenting business requirements and creating functional specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel 5%–20% as needed.
